Gods judgements are wise and perfect, and they are based on what you receive, not based on what someone 4000 years ago received. To whom much is given, much is required.
Jesus also said that Tyre and Sidon would have repented in sackcloth and ashes if they had heard Him or His disciples preach. The people of Chorazin and Bethsaida in His day did not. Therefore their judgement was harsher. That’s what Jesus explained to them.
Luke 10
12 But I say unto you, that it shall be more tolerable in that day for Sodom, than for that city. 13 Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon, which have been done in you, they had a great while ago repented, sitting in sackcloth and ashes. 14 But it shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the judgment, than for you.
Jesus saw the heart of the people in Tyre and Sidon, and the hearts of those in Bethsaida and Chorazin. He explained to them that Tyre, and Sidon were more righteous than they were based on what they were given and how they responded to it.
The amount of revelation, HG, and just plain knowledge in the earth is exponentially greater than what it was when Noah got drunk and David boned Bathsheba and killed Uriah as the King of Israel.
You cannot compare someone who has tasted the Holy Ghost, knows Jesus, reads the NT, and yet walks in covetousness and adultery to someone who only had 5 books of Moses.
This does not excuse anyone’s sin, it only helps explain Gods wisdom, mercy and judgement. Everyone has been given the same conscience, but not everyone has been given the same resources. God sees this, and God knows this.
There are no excuses for foolishness in the name of Jesus. When we choose to display hypocrisy instead of display repentance, that is proof of condemnation instead of grace.
Luke 12
47 And that servant, which knew his lord’s will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. 48 But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.
James 3
1 My brethren, be not many masters, (preachers or teachers) knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation.
