WAS MY MARRIAGE ORDAINED?

TRUTH OVER LIES DAILY
Q: How do you know your marriage was God ordained from jump? What if God had nothing to do with your union? These are questions I’m asked frequently.
A: Marriage is a Creation ordinance designed by our Creator. Man is made in God’s image so a man’s marriage Covenant between a woman has to be upheld and not discarded.
Since we are made in God’s image, as human beings we are expected to honor our own words and covenants.
(In this question I’m addressing original Covenant marriages, not adultery, or homosexuality, or marriages to your mother-in-law, or marriages to horses).
One-flesh covenant marriage is when a male and female make a public covenant with their mouths – God sees it and holds them to it.
Proverbs 6:2 Thou art snared with the words of thy mouth, thou art taken with the words of thy mouth.
Genesis 2: 23 And Adam SAID, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. 24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be ONE FLESH.
Ecclesiastes 5: 4 When thou vowest a vow unto God, defer not to pay it; for he hath no pleasure in fools: pay that which thou hast vowed.
5 Better is it that thou shouldest not vow, than that thou shouldest vow and not pay.
6 Suffer not thy mouth to cause thy flesh to sin; neither say thou before the angel, that it was an error: wherefore should God be angry at thy voice, and DESTROY the work of thine hands?
God has a right to be angry and destroy the work of people that speak promises before Him and don’t keep it.
If Covenant marriages were only valid between Christians in the perfect will of God, the John the Baptist would not have told Herod “It is not lawful for you to have her!”
Herod wasn’t even a Jew let alone a Believer. John the Baptist went back to Creation Law.
Whenever Jesus taught on Marriage, He went back to Creation, “from the beginning.”
Mark 10: 4 And they said, Moses suffered to write a bill of divorcement, and to put her away.
5 And Jesus answered and said unto them, For the hardness of your heart he wrote you this precept.
6 But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female.
7 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife;
8 And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh.
9 What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
This means that God joins you when you make the Covenant. God ordains it because you made the promise. God and man work together.
All cultures around the world understand the necessity to keep promises because we are all made in the image of God. We don’t have to be super-Christians marrying the perfect person in the perfect will of God to have basic human character and be faithful to our covenants that we made with our mouths.
