DOES SUICIDE PUT YOU IN HELL?

TRUTH OVER LIES DAILY

Q: Hello I know it’s not Thursday but I have a question… If a person is saved “for real saved” and commits suicide do they go to hell?

A: No I don’t believe that suicide puts you in hell. I don’t know where that came from but it might be an old Catholic teaching.

However, someone who kills themself is more likely to be unsaved than saved.

King Saul and Judas are examples of those that rebelled against God’s will, and their demonic depression caused them to commit suicide.

Samson is the only person in the Bible that killed himself and was still portrayed in a positive light in the New Testament (Hebrews 11). He killed himself and destroyed the Philistines with him – winning a battle for Israel. Similarly, Jesus gave His life up willingly and is the Savior of the world – winning the battle for His people. Self-sacrifice is different than suicide. One is selfless. The other is selfish.

If you have salvation, the Holy Spirit will sanctify you, lead you to Godly fellowship, and eventually lead you out of depression.

Believers Believe. Faith is the Opposite of Despair.

Assemblies Assemble. They encourage each other.

If you don’t Believe, and you don’t Assemble… then you may not be saved. Being saved is not just a past tense “position” – its also an action word.

Righteousness, peace and Joy in the Holy Ghost is the kingdom of God (Romans 14).
