Them vs Us

*[[1Co 2:4-5]] KJV* And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

In this scripture Paul was contrasting himself with false apostles who trusted in Greek rhetorical skills rather than God. This happens a lot even now:

Him:
Dude you are a legalistic nutball, who is spiritually immature, weak at hermeneutics and badly in need of discipleship.

Point being: take me off your list.

Me:
God bless you too!

Sorry,

Heres my hermeneutics for that:

*[[Mat 5:44]] KJV* But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you

And, End Scene.

I’m not saying hermeneutics is wrong, but just make sure your hermeneutics actually includes the Word of God and obedience to the Spirit of God. Real orthodoxy creates orthopraxy, aka “being a doer of the Word not a hearer only.”
