Justin Rizzo – A Levite in the House of Prayer

Justin Rizzo – A Levite in the House of Prayer

justin-rizzoJustin Rizzo is one of my favorite worship leaders… His songs have such a heavy priestly anointing, he reminds me of a literal old testament priest that uses the New Covenant Blood of Jesus to wash God’s people clean! The grace that God has given him to make songs out of new testament scriptures as well as scriptures all over the Bible is a huge blessing to the Body of Christ. Let’s find out more about what drives J.Rizzo to worship the Lord:

eSoSa: How did you get started working at IHOP kc?

J. Rizzo: Around the time of my high school graduation, my dad showed me a brochure for a six-month program (the One Thing Internship) with other young people at IHOP-KC. At his suggestion, I applied and was accepted. I knew virtually nothing about the house of prayer and had no idea what I was walking into. I didn’t even really know that there was a 24/7 prayer room.

About two months into my internship, the Lord really began revealing Himself to me. It was then that I realized that there was a grave disconnect in my heart from who the Bible said that God is and what I was actually experiencing of Him. This started me on a journey of discovering Him that I now know will never end. As the word says, it truly is the glory of man now and forever to search out the depths of the riches of the glory of our God.

My calling includes worship leading, teaching, singing, and songwriting, but I never want to lose sight of the fact that my primary mandate is to minister before the Lord. My heart’s cry is like that of David when he said, “One thing have I desired of the Lord, to gaze upon Him and to inquire in His temple” (Psalm 27:4). My greatest desire is to see Jesus come back to the Earth and establish His throne in Jerusalem. I long for the day when He will be the worldwide obsession of every single person on Earth and have supremacy in all things (Colossians 1). My desire is to help send a clear call to this generation that we must wake up from our slumber and prepare the way of the Lord.

eSoSa: What would you say is an example that looks like in real life… waking up and preparing the way?

J. Rizzo: The practical way to walk this out would be first and foremost having a schedule that you seek to follow. When you don’t follow it or get off track you don’t get depressed and stop, you simply get back up and try again the next day. Most of us are busy, we have jobs, families, etc. But we must prioritize a secret life with the Lord (Mt 6) where we making drawing away with Him our first priority of the day. I know from personal experience that if I don’t prioritize this and schedule it in… many times weeks and even months will go by and I realize, “Wow, I haven’t had quality time with Jesus in a long time!” Even if you’re in ministry it’s so easy to simply DO things for Him and not really spend quality time TALKING to Him in the secret place. We cannot be a mouthpiece and a voice in preaching or song declaring things about someone we don’t really KNOW intimately.

eSoSa: What is your favorite theme to sing about?

J.Rizzo: It depends on the season I’m in 🙂 But right now I would say the Epistles, Philippians has been my favorite to sing through. There is such rich theology and understanding that Paul had and singing through this book has been amazing. For example, Philippians talks a lot about joy. It’s mentioned over thirty times, which seems strange because Paul is writing while sitting in a Roman prison. Clearly his joy was not based on his circumstances. I don’t know about you, but I am very affected by my circumstances. Whether due to internal or external things, I find that I can be joyful or sorrowful, happy or sad from one moment to the next.

But thank God that He has given us a glorious invitation to find the superior joy and pleasure of knowing Him, which can carry us through any storm or trial we may face. This is what Paul tapped into.

So how can we find this joy and live in it continually? First, we can purpose to control every other source of joy in our lives. As Christians, we’re called to be in the world but not of it and therefore we have to be careful not to let our emotions be brought under the power of other things. This may sound super negative, but I don’t think it is. I’m not saying it’s wrong to be joyful about things other than God, but if I begin finding my primary source of joy coming from lesser things in my life, even permissible ones, then I need to rearrange things until He becomes the main source of my joy.

I’ve found fasting to be a great way to speed up the process of finding my true source of joy in Him. Another of Paul’s keys to remaining joyful in prison was to meditate on Christ. We can’t rejoice in the Lord without thinking about Him. Finally, Paul tells us to thank God for all that He’s given us.

I also enjoy singing about heaven, and the restoration of the earth when Jesus returns. Thinking about a real man ruling this earth from his throne in Jerusalem and no more crying, tears, or pain is one of my favorite themes to sing about.

eSoSa: Songs about heaven are AWESOME! They make me want to prepare the way for Jesus to return so we can experience Him in fullness! What are your feelings on the spirit of Elijah restoring all things before the return of Jesus… and do you ever sing on that particular theme?

J.Rizzo: I have sung on it a little bit before. The spirit of Elijah is a vast subject with a lot to it and many facets. But the part of it that’s struck me the most has been Malachi 4:5-6 mostly because I’ve experienced it first hand and seen it many times in recent years, which I believe is a clear sign of the times. “Turning the hearts of the fathers to the children and the hearts of children to the fathers.”

I’ve had this experience within my own family and also seen it in many others. Just the other day I heard a testimony about a father who repented to his son after many years of bitterness and having a hard heart. This is stunning and is a huge testimony of the hour in which we live. I believe that the coming revival will be sustained much by families dwelling together with other families in unity and it’s in that place that God will command a great blessing.

Of course the spirit of Elijah has a first advent and second advent reality and the amount of restoration before Jesus returns will be vast!

eSoSa: So that first advent is obviously John the Baptist right? But what about the 2nd advent of the Spirit of Elijah? Will it just be the two witnesses in Revelations, or do you think it’s going to have a wider application for the Church overall?

J.Rizzo: Oh man, you’re pushing me for an answer here 🙂 I on purpose dodged the question. I think it’s a topic that many have different opinions on, but yes… I think Elijah will literally come before Jesus’ second coming. I think he very well might be one of the two witnesses in Revelation (but of course I’m not sure!-)

Two reasons for me thinking this is it says the witnesses will have power to shut heaven so no rain falls – this is what Elijah did in Old Testament. Also, two prophets in the Old Testament who had confrontations with an evil king, Elijah being one of them.

How that applies to us today I think is – yes, walking in the spirit and power of Elijah. Doing signs and wonders, casting out demons, etc. Preparing the way for the Lords second coming, in the same way that John the Baptist, walking in the spirit of Elijah, prepared the way for his first coming.

I will say that I am not an expert on this topic, so hopefully what I said (from my limited understanding) makes some sense : )

eSoSa: How do you develop your songs?

J.Rizzo: Song writing for me takes on different forms. Because I’m singing at IHOPKC 12-15 hours a week, many times  songs will spontaneously come on stage and then I’ll write the rest of the song off stage. Other times I will write an entire song off stage. No matter what way you mighttechnically write a song… my opinion is that songwriters must have a deep life rooted in the Word. I believe that people can write songs, even good songs, but if we actually have a history in the bible around a certain theme or verse I believe that makes the song so much more powerful.

eSoSa: Describe a day in the life of a missionary working at IHOP KC?

J.Rizzo: Some of my daily activities include worship leading, teaching, singing, and songwriting, but I never want to lose sight of the fact that my primary mandate is to minister before the Lord. My heart’s cry is like that of David when he said, “One thing have I desired of the Lord, to gaze upon Him and to inquire in His temple” (Psalm 27:4). So along with my activities of ministry and outreach much of my time is spent sitting before the Lord in study, meditation, and intercession. I also spend a lot of time pastoring my worship team (about 20 people). We minister together six times a week and spend about 15-17 hours together.

eSoSa: Who takes care of the natural side of your ministry work, like office work, fundraising, rehearsal spaces, or even putting out your albums?

Rizzo_FaithfulJ.Rizzo: Everyone on staff with IHOPKC, from our director all the way down, raises their own support. As full time staff we have the responsibility to support raise, administrate our e-mail updates, stay connected with and develop our own personal partners. I actually schedule our practice facility for our sixteen primary worship teams. The sound department keeps it up and running. As far as our music we have a record label called Forerunner Music with a studio that we record it. For independent projects we are on our own to fund it, record it, distribute it, etc.

eSoSa: On May 11 you will not only be leading a live worship set, but also doing a special “for singers and musicians only” workshop. What can people expect, and has God given you anything specific for Detroit yet?

J.Rizzo: This session will be an interactive time where I will be sharing about the power of singers and musicians in this day and hour. I believe that two worship movements are being raised up, one that focuses on the glory of Jesus but another that is self-centered worship of self which will eventually lead to worship of the antichrist. Revelation chapter 13 mentions worship of the antichrist five times. This is something we must pay attention to and as singers and musicians in this day and hour see the glory of what we’ve been called to.

Come worship the Lord with Justin Rizzo at The PROTEST. Singers and Musicians stay tuned for more details about the “For Singers and Musicians Only” Workshop.

Summary of Principalities and Strongholds that will Bow to Jesus Tonight in Detroit | Countdown to The Call Detroit 11-11-11: Day 1 –

Summary of Principalities and Strongholds that will Bow to Jesus Tonight in Detroit

This is a summary of the revelations of Principalities and Strongholds in Detroit that God has given me and my wife through dreams, interpretations, our testimony, and the Word of God. We will be sharing the testimony in our upcoming book.

A local Bishop asked me to send them to him because God had shown him something similar about 5 points of repentance that were needed in the church. So I listed them in a nice pretty outline, with some links to teachings on this blog about them. It was deep, I actually sent them on October 31, which happened to be the same day Martin Luther posted his 95 theses for the Reformation. I did’nt even know that at first. Now you get to see the outline!

These are things that we have been repenting about at DaHOP (Detroit Area House of Prayer).  Our basic premise is Matthew 16 and Matthew 18. The Church already has All the Authority. “If it’s bound, the Church bound it. If it’s loosed, the Church loosed it.” When our obedience is fulfilled, God can revenge all disobedience (2 Corinthians 10). Therefore, we must repent and allow God’s word to change our minds if we want to see change, because it’s mostly our fault (Daniel 9, iRepent). We must repent from:

  1. Tolerating Jezebel– Toleration of Compromise, Spiritual Fornication, Teaching Idolatry
    1. Music and Ministry that mixes, and partners with the World (fornication). Christian musicians and singers and preachers that partner with the world usually end up in spiritual or natural fornication or adultery, or divorced. The natural is just a reflection of what they’ve already done spiritually.
    2. Music and Ministry that copies and follows the World (teaching God’s servants to eat food that has been sacrificed to idols). The best way to teach is by example. If our singers, rappers, and musicians copy and remix with the world, they pollute the whole church.
    3. Detroit has been the prototype city for allowing our Levitical sons and daughters to be seduced by Jezebel instead of giving God pure worship. From mammon and politically focused preachers to our compromising singers, we let God’s Levites make music about money and adultery instead of worshipping Him.
    4. There is a famous Detroit pastor who sang, sold his sermons, charged exorbitant fees to speak, had several adulteries, broken marriages (apostasy is divorce), and had a baby by a 13 year old in his own congregation. He encouraged his daughter to mix with the world and sing soul music for money. All this was done in the 1930s and 1940s, and we tolerated it – even celebrated this. Now we have generations that worship talent instead of God, so they are easily deceived.
    5. Afterwards, Motown became the prototype record label to all the labels that exist now. Their first hit song was “Money, That’s what I want.” Their second was “Gotta Shop Around.” Idolatry and Adultery. Most of their musicians and singers were children from the Church. Even the Beatles first hit song was a Motown song (Money, That’s What I Want). The negative and positive influence of Detroit on the world is mind-boggling.
    6. Even some of our gospel music copies and steals from the world – rejecting God’s creativity. We think it reaches more people, but according to Jesus – Jezebel’s doctrine is the depths of satan.
    7. There are serious repercussions to tolerating Jezebel, some of the most serious repercussions in the 7 letters to the Churches Revelations 2-3.
    8. Lustful looks among men, Sexual Dress among women
    9. Jezebel Exposed (in the Church)
  2. Judas’s Pragmatism– Betraying the Will and Purpose of God by following our own Mind and doing “What Works”
    1. The Detroit region is a stronghold for pragmatism. The industrial mentality can become “pragmatic” which is an extreme version of practicality. Henry Ford was known to be very practical, and influenced by pragmatism. Obviously, practical thinking can be used for good. However, pragmatism as a philosophy can be very evil. Henry Ford was known to be anti-Semetic. We do not know if his pragmatic way of thinking was the cause of his anti-Semetism.
    2. “Enemies of the cross, mind earthly things” – Philippians 2. Practical thinking that is not rooted in obedience to God’s will is pragmatism and self-worshipping disobedience. Earthly mindedness leads to satan entering in your mind. Jesus called both Judas and Peter satan when they exhibited earthly mindedness.
    3. Judas was earthly minded. God got His will done anyway, but “woe to him that betrays the Son of man.” We betray the purpose of our single lives, our families, our ministries, our churches when we put our will to do what we think will work above the scripturally stated will of God for each ministry.
    4. We Are Responsible for Abortion (The Judas Kiss). Racist eugenicist Margaret Sanger got family planning and birth control accepted in the church for “pragmatic” reasons nearly 40 years before abortion was legalized. She had genocide in her philosophies, but she didn’t say it outright. In the name of women’s health, contraception, and family limitation, she convinced us that children were a loss, not a profit; we should limit our families to what we think we can afford pragmatically. Her motto in her publication – Woman Rebel was “No Gods, No Masters.” We let her in the church and loosed it with our own authority.
    5. Contrary to popular belief, Margaret Sanger was NOT pro-abortion, she was against abortion, and she promoted birth control and family limitation. The anointing of motherhood is the only thing that stops the spirit of abortion which comes from family limitation. The root of abortion is not a law, it’s a mindset of pragmatism related to family.
    6. Some of us lose the anointing for increase because we purposefully limit God’s increase of godly seed. Earthly mindedness makes us think backwards. Purpose creates income, income doesn’t create purpose.
    7. We can’t point at Democrats, or Republicans, Obama, or Perry/Cain/Ron Paul to end abortion when we have all the authority. We are above them. Get birth control and family planning out of the church and abortion falls in the government, guaranteed.
  3. Dog-tongues and Wolfpacks– Using Our tongues against our brothers, Ministries who’s purpose is to tear down and steal from other ministries
    1. Using our tongues like dogs. Speaking negatively about other people, other ministries, other races, other churches.
    2. In many churches, every sermon has a “diss” of someone elses ministry in it. “That big church” “That small church” “That Baptist dollar” “Those Holy rollers”. “White people”
    3. We have authority over the atmosphere in our city… so Why is our city so violent? How is gang warfare any different from using our tongues against other churches? Our mouths and especially our pulpits create atmosphere.
    4. Destroying Dog-tongues and Wolfpacks. We need to create a culture of thanksgiving, blessing, honor, and intercession for people made in the image of God.
  4. Dead Men’s Bones and Hypocrites– Worshipping Traditions and Dead Men instead of following the Holy Ghost
    1. Resisting the Holy Ghost instead of at least supporting the new things that God Sovereignly does in each generation. Traditions make the Word of God void of power. In the past Detroit has been one of the most tradition – loving cities.
    2. We need to honor the old, and support the new. Both the New Wine and the Old wine can be preserved.
    3. Return the hearts of the Fathers to the Children, and the Hearts of the Children to the Fathers.
    4. Dead Men’s Bones and Hypocrites – It affects the legacy of the next generation. We destroy our children spiritually when we don’t allow them to create new wineskins for God’s new wine to flow in.
  5. Division and Thieves: racial division and denominational division, not being a house of prayer for all nations.
    1. We need to stop being the world’s best example of racial division on every Sunday. It’s loosed in the world because it’s loosed in the Church. We need desegregation in the Church.
    2. Being a place where thieves can hide, instead of a house of prayer for every ethnic group. Our di-vision makes our vision smaller, and therefore we don’t feel the need to pray night and day for all nations.
    3. This is also related to Judas and Jezebel, because it has to do with the purpose of God for the Church, and also the Music Ministry. If thieves steal the house of prayer from the Church, it’s a den of thieves. If Levites can’t or won’t be employed to worship God day & night, Jezebel and Judas have victory over them and steals their calling.
    4. Real Unity – One Mind on Jesus and Mouth on Christ
    5. The House of Prayer for every nation requires unity, regionally and racially.
    6. A House of Prayer for Every Ethnos
    7. Dividing ourselves from each other instead of finding agreement in our different roles.
  6. *Bonus* Babylon Business Principles in the Kingdom of God: brand warfare, usury, false balances, manipulation, slavery, witchcraft (pharmakia)
    1. Building our brands over being concerned with people.
    2. Putting profit before truth.
    3. Defrauding each other to the point where we need lawyers to judge.
    4. Embracing usury and debt, enslaving Gods’ people.
    5. Not keeping communication and transactions in simplicity (Romans 12).
    6. The Fear of the Lord is the Key to Economic Development.
    7. Whiskey River?
    8. Spiritual Sharecropping.
    9. This one is a bonus, because originally I didn’t have it as an iRepent event. I saw it as a Christian business problem more than a church problem. But I included it here because I heard a local presentation – on how Industrial Sharecropping effectually continued some to the basic tenets of slavery in Detroit until the 1980s – that enlightened me to the possibility of spiritual sharecropping.
    10. The church has all authority, so if it’s loosed, it’s because we loosed it. If slavery lasted until the 1980’s here, then the Church here was responsible. We may need repentance in some of these areas of our business principles.

Where Sin Did Abound, May Grace Much More Abound! We believe that when these false heads and spiritual strongholds are repented of, chopped off, and destroyed, The Body will be able to put our full focus on Jesus Christ, the Beautiful One.

This has been a tough journey, so I feel like saying something really dramatic here… but I’ll just drop the mic and say “Amen.”

🙂

Jezebel Exposed (in the Church) | Countdown to The Call Detroit 11-11-11: Day 38 –

Jezebel Exposed

Jesus Christ is marching and he’s Chopping Off Heads. Every thing that exalts itself above the knowledge of Christ is about to be dethroned (2 Cor 10).  Just like Jehu, he’s about to get rid of Jezebel. He’s already been doing it, we just need to have an ear to hear and eyes to see what He’s doing. The Old Covenant version of Jezebel is the one that kills true messengers of God, and corrupts leaders. The New Covenant version (after she killed John the Baptist) version of Jezebel – her strategy is a little different.

I have blogged about Jezebel in the past, (3 Main Doctrines That Jesus Hates) as well as about this exact passage in Revelations 2 (How To Rule Nations and Governments).  But in the past couple of years I have gotten a lot more understanding on Revelations 2. I explain a lot more of this through dream interpretations, testimonies, and scriptural revalations in my upcoming book, (Killing Idols For REVIVAL) but let’s take a quick look at Jesus explaining Jezebel’s new covenant strategies. Then we’ll look at how it relates to Detroit and Detroit’s influence on the nations of the earth.

Revelations 2

18 And unto the angel of the church in Thyatira write ; These things saith the Son of God, who hath his eyes like unto a flame of fire, and his feet are like fine brass;

Jesus’ eyes are like fire. They consume and penetrate and burn through us. They see right through our hearts.

His feet are like brass. He’s steady, solid, and He’s the King, and He’s not going anywhere.

19 I know thy works, and charity, and service, and faith, and thy patience, and thy works; and the last to be more than the first.

Jesus is pleased with the Church, they work hard, they have love, service, faith… and their works keep growing. Jesus is pleased with everything except for a few things thing. It tolerates Jezebel.

20 Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication , and to eat things sacrificed unto idols.

In the New Covenant Jezebel calls herself a prophetess. She is tolerated by the Church, they let her teach God’s servants how to commit fornication and eat food sacrificed to idols. What’s the best way to teach? By example.

21 And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not. 22 Behold , I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds. 23 And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.

This is very serious. He gave her time to repent. But if she doesn’t, she will get sick, those that commit adultery with her will go into great tribulation unless they repent. Her children (so called spiritual fruit) will be killed with death. All the Churches will know the Jesus is not playing and His eyes are like fire, and they can’t hide.

24 But unto you I say , and unto the rest in Thyatira, as many as have not this doctrine, and which have not known the depths of Satan, as they speak ; I will put upon you none other burden.

Jezebel’s doctrine is satanic, and very serious.

25 But that which ye have already hold fast till I come *. 26 And he that overcometh , and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations: 27 And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers : even as I received of my Father. 28 And I will give him the morning star. 29 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

If you overcome Jezebel, you will have a lot of authority over nations.

So let’s talk briefly about how the Church in Detroit has tolerated Jezebel, and how the Church can turn its heart back to God.

She teaches fornication. Naturally, fornication is having sex with someone other than your wife. Spiritually, its worshipping idols other than the Creator. These idols could be represented by power and influence or money and productivity (which is related to Baal, the OT Jezebel’s idol).

She teaches God’s servants how to eat food that has been sacrificed to idols. Naturally, this could be a piece of chicken that has been branded by Lucifer’s Chicken Shack. Spiritually, it could be a piece of music (an inanimate creation of God) that has been married to lyrics that worship false Gods.

Jezebel teaches God’s servants by example how to mix with the world, fornicate, and eat food (music) that has been sacrificed to idols. She does this as a minister from inside the church because they tolerate her.

Do you see the adultery in the church? Is there anyone who can see this happening? Yesterdays countdown was about Judgement beginning in the house of God because We Have All the Authority and We are Already on Top, even when we don’t realize it. People are dying, people are being exposed as adulterers, there is divorce all over the church. And we don’t know that its because Jesus is judging Jezebel.

Are you tired of seeing all the “top” gospel artists and big time preachers divorcing, committing adultery, partnering with unbelievers spiritually, copying and following secular artists,  and copying unGodly business principles? The natural adultery and fornication only represents the spiritual adultery and fornication. They teach Jezebels doctrine by example… they say they do it to reach more people but Jesus sees through that lie. It may be thru ignorance, but its inspired by Jezebel for money and power. We need to repent and stop tolerating it. It more serious than we think, and its spiritually satanic, and its all our fault.

If that’s not enough for you to believe, wait until I share more info on this blog and in the dreams and testimony… When you bear fruit, God’s Word prunes you so that you can bear even more fruit! Even as a gospel dj, there are songs (even scriptural songs) that I played 3 months ago – that I won’t play now, because I fear God and I have a clearer view of Jezebels doctrine.

One morning a few weeks ago my wife had an open vision of some old, wooden doors opening and closing. We knew that God was opening and closing doors, but we didn’t really know the full interpretation. However, that same day, we ended up at the Motown Museum. I’ve lived in Detroit over 20 years and I’ve never been there, but all the sudden I was there that day because family came in from out of town and wanted to visit it!

Soon we understood that the doors God was closing was the door of God’s Levites being stolen from the Church. All the young musicians from God’s Church were seduced into singing for Money and Adultery. Motown’s first hit was “Money” That’s What I want. Their second hit was “Shop Around.” The Beatles first hit was a remix of “Money” That’s What I Want, written by Motown. The international, multiracial, and multi-genre influence of Motown is unfathomable. But it all came from God’s Levites being stolen from His Church.

God is closing those doors, and He’s opening the doors to the House of Prayer where God will be worshipped by His Levites, by God’s House becoming a house of prayer for all nations. A pure song that isn’t inspired by idolatry is soon to come. We won’t tolerate the secular remixes, or the regurgitations of idolatry in the church. Originality and Creativity is coming into God’s House of Prayer for All Nations, for we will worship and focus on the Creative God Who is Beautiful and Set Apart to Himself as His Own Purpose (Holy).

In the past few weeks, I’ve been there 3 times with different prayer groups from DaHOP, Burn, The Call, etc… More revelations, worship, and declarations come every time. We are excited that Jesus Christ is marching back into His temple, whipping out the money changers, turning over the tables, and taking God’s Levites back to sing a song that is Holy to the Lord and building Detroit into a House of Prayer, a City of Praise and Public Worship.

I will be sharing more of the research and scriptures on repenting from Toleration of Jezebel this Friday. We will be seeking to achieve the great repentance that is necessary to turn our city and nation around at DaHOP on Friday nights. Join us. Daniel turned a nation repenting and praying all by himself! So if 3 of you come and join us on Fridays leading up to The Call and join us at The Call in TRUE REPENTANCE…. What could happen in our nation?

Make your way to Detroit on 11-11-11 for The Call. Pray with us. Join people all over Detroit that are fasting and praying in preparation for God to do something BIG in our city, nation, and world… NOW. Yes, NOW.

The Call
