Did you know that neither the word “legalist” or “legalism” is in the Scriptures?
However the word “lawless” and “lawless one” is described in the bible with the Spirit of Antichrist and man of Sin.
The Law of the Lord is PERFECT. Converting the Soul. – Psalms 19.
But we know that the Law is GOOD, if a man use it lawfully. – 1 Timothy 1:9.
What most people interpret as “legalists” were actually “Judaizers” who tried to preach salvation through the Abrahamic and/or Mosaic Covenant and Israelite Culture (circumcision, feast days, food, jewish fables).
However those things have nothing to do with the Perfect Law of Liberty aka the 10 Commandments – the Moral Law of God.
Deuteronomy 5:22 These words the Lord spake unto all your assembly in the mount out of the midst of the fire, of the cloud, and of the thick darkness, with a great voice: AND HE ADDED NO MORE. And HE WROTE THEM IN TWO TABLES OF STONE, and delivered them unto me.
Beware lest you become “LAWLESS” in your fight against God’s PERFECT LAW of LIBERTY – which is GOOD when used LAWFULLY.
You can call it legalism all you want, but that’s a fight you’re guaranteed to lose, and you will pay a high price. Your arms are too short to box with God. Keep His Commandments.
