Faith is the Victory that Overcomes the World

This is the continual process of overcoming in the life of a Believer:

The Squeeze made me stronger. God gave me Double. The thief gave me Sevenfold. Plus I still love my enemies. God is always good to me. How bout you?

Living your Life of JOY

In addition to walking in love with God and having good relationships with people, living your life of JOY will also require Physical Work, Rest, Giving, and Praise.

Most of your Joy will come from the spiritual (praise, obedience, giving) and social (giving, relationships); but some of it is physical (physical work, rest).

If you don’t do physical work, then it may be a good idea to exercise or play a sport.

Is sports idolatry? No, sports is only idolatry if you mix it with alcoholism, lust, or covetousness (greed for money, gambling).

YAH doesn’t take pleasure in the legs of a man (Psalms 147:10), so we should not overemphasize the strength in sports.

However, Scripture does associate sports with joy (Psalms 19:5), and discipline (1 Corinthians 9:24-27).

So if you have problems with Joy, or Discipline… these are things you may be able to get help with through a sport.

After you put your body through your physical work, or your sport… then Rest, Give, and Praise the Most High! The sleep of a laboring man is sweet (Eccl. 5:12).

Physical Discipline, Success, and Joy

Athletes learn discipline by doing the fundamentals of their sport.

Seeing the growth and results of physical discipline makes it easier to understand the benefits of mental and spiritual disciplines.

This is why the Scriptures use athletes as a positive example of physical self-discipline for our spiritual calling.

1 Corinthians 9:24 Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.

25 And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.

26 I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air:

27 But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

Keeping Your Body as Your Slave

The Greek word for “body” that Paul mentioned in the above Scripture is “soma” (Strong’s #G4983). “Soma” means slave.

The physical discipline of sports allows you to learn to subject your own body to the discipline of slavery.

Those that can master their own body, can go on to master anything.

Those that cannot master their own bodies, cannot master anything in life.

This is why Scripture uses sports as a positive example of discipline and self-mastery.

Fundamental Physical, Mental, and Spiritual Disciplines are important for us to learn in every area.

Physical, Mental, and Spiritual Discipline sets us up for a life of Joy.

A Powerful Anointing of JOY Comes when You Love God/ Hate Sin with Proof

A powerful anointing of unspeakable joy comes into your soul when you love righteousness and you hate wickedness and you live like it.

Psalms 45
7 Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.
8 All thy garments smell of myrrh, and aloes, and cassia, out of the ivory palaces, whereby they have made thee glad.

The oil of gladness is a powerful form of Gods joy from the inside. It has nothing to do with circumstances on the outside.

Myrrh, aloes, and cassia were a burial spice mixture for embalming, it represents sacrificial obedience. Garments represent your actions. Your garments smell like myrrh, aloes, and cassia when you obey God and suffer for it. Myrrh means bitter, but it makes you better. Cassia means stripped and humbled, but it’s used to anoint kings. Aloe is used to heal what was hurt.

Romans 14
17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

You enter into the kingdom of God thru faith in Jesus Christ with fruits of repentance and grace. After that, it’s a continual upward swirl of righteousness, then peace, and then joy in the Holy Ghost.

If My People: The Cry and the Joy | Countdown to The Call Detroit 11-11-11: Day 22 –

If My People – The Cry and the Joy

As we prepare for the Call 11-11-11 National Solemn assembly in Detroit, we want to pray that it would really be Solemn. We are praying that God would release a Cry for the Abominations we have done.

The key to turning a nation is in God’s people turning our hearts back to God. Sometimes we aren’t even aware of the sins that we have committed. We think that how we live and what we do as the Church is normal and Godly. A messenger of God, that will boldly and gently point out the specific sins and errors that we don’t yet recognize, is a crucial component of any revival and awakening that God seeks to bring to a people.

14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray , and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7

We know this scripture back and forth, but what is missing? We gather to pray and we have more pictures than prayers. We have gatherings that are everything but solemn, and we have a Church culture that glosses over and covers up sins, rather than exposing them so that we can cry or feel emotion over them. This stops us from turning to God from the heart. God is going to turn this type of Church culture on its head.

When Does the Joy Come?

7 I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth , more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need *no repentance. Luke 15

Is there anyone in the Church who is perfect, and “needs no repentance?” We are righteous by the blood of Christ, but when we really seek God and observe His ways, oftentimes we will find items where we need repentance. GOD in heaven has joy when those who have sinned repent and turn their heart to God.

We need to take part in the full emotion and personality of God. Full joy, full celebration, partying, music and dancing (Luke 15), but ONLY after we receive full vision, full disgust, crying and sadness over sin, and turning. No its not bipolar disorder, or schizophrenia. Its abandoning our soul to Him and being filled with the Word and Spirit of God.

Join us on Fridays leading up to The Call and join us at The Call in TRUE REPENTANCE….
