Why Idol Killing is Important, Necessary, and Mandatory

Most people can’t take any correction until their root idolatry is praised, honored & untouched.

Going to the root of idolatry and demanding repentance is important, because otherwise you could be merely strengthening an idolatrous heart, and teaching them how to mask it more effectively.

Popularity Contest? or Kingdom of God? public correction and faithful wounds

Do unbelievers BLASPHEME the name of God because the Body of Christ is too self-correcting? Because the Body seeks to purify themselves from corrupting influences? Because they see we have too much public discipline in response to public sin?

Or do they BLASPHEME God when those things go UNCHECKED?

Do the scriptures say anything about this?

Romans 2:22-24
“You who say that one must not commit adultery, do you commit adultery? You who abhor idols, do you rob temples?

You who boast in the law dishonor God by breaking the law.

For, as it is written, “The name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you.”

Never listen to any novice teaching that says “the world won’t come to Christ if they see us giving too much correction.” That’s a lie from the devil. The kingdom of God is not bound to the rules of a high school popularity contest.

Actually, the opposite is true:

Faithful are the wounds of a friend. The kisses of an enemy are deceitful. – Proverbs

Faithful wounds and Holy discipline leads to more power and more effectiveness. We need more faithful wounds (real love) and less deceitful kisses (fake love).

Children Hate Correction

No matter how much I love my son, feed him, support him, encourage him, kiss him, hug him, play with him… when it comes time for correction, he always hates correction. Every time. As soon as I correct him he immediately forgets all the other good things I’ve done. Why? Because he’s a child.

What’s really sad is when grownups act the same way. Children always hate correction, but its a part of real love. Love is being faithful to the covenant. Emotions are up and down but Love is Steady. Mature people realize that love is not only emotion, but faithfulness.

Proverbs 12:1
Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, But he who hates reproof is stupid.

Proverbs 27:6
Faithful are the wounds of a friend, But deceitful are the kisses of an enemy.

Spirit of Elijah or Lord of the Flies???

Everybody appreciates the park ranger that cleans up poop.

Nobody appreciates the flies that gather to hot poop and lay eggs in it. There’s a difference between correcting error and laying your eggs in it.

Rejoicing in someone’s death is not the Spirit of Elijah it’s the spirit of Beelzebub lord of the flies. “Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth…”

A lack of human compassion is a sign of a false prophet with an agenda not from God but from self.

James 3:17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

18 And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.

It’s a Privilege not to be a Bastard

“It’s a Privilege to Be Corrected By God” – Todd Johnson

Why?

Bastards don’t get correction or repent they just get their heart hardened in their error, and they succeed in sin, which is really failure.

Exodus 7:13
And he hardened Pharaoh’s heart, that he hearkened not unto them; as the LORD had said.

John 12:40
He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.

Hebrews 12
6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.
7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?
8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.
9 Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?
