What is A Righteous Mans Reward?
Do you know that the reward of a righteous man is greater, more powerful, and quicker than the reward of a prophet?
We know how to receive a prophet but do we know how to receive a righteous man?
Matthew 10:41
For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him.He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man’s reward.
Prophets – speakers, singers, prophets, evangelists
Righteous/Wise Men – doers, builders, overseers (elders), apostles, shepherds (pastor-teachers)
A prophets reward is the result of hearing and obeying their message.
A righteous mans reward is the result of following their actions to completion.
You can receive Jesus as a Prophet and get a benefit (Ghandi), but if you don’t see Him as Righteous King and Obey Him as Lord (Ruler) you don’t receive His righteousness.
You can accept one of his prophetic messages and be enlightened or encouraged… but if you don’t follow His Brethren, the Builders of His Congregation who Obey His Commandments and Do Things the Way He Taught Them, you won’t receive His righteousness.
When you receive someone who comes from the Lord, you are receiving the Lord.
Everyone is equal in the Lord: those that are sent, and those that RECEIVE who’s been sent.
We all get the same reward. We are all on the same team.
Matthew 10:40-42
“He who receives you receives Me, and he who receives Me receives Him who sent Me. He who receives a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward; and he who receives a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man’s reward. And whoever in the name of a disciple gives to one of these little ones even a cup of cold water to drink, truly I say to you, he shall not lose his reward.” (Matthew 10:40-42)
When we begin to value being and following doers and builders of the Word just as much as we love to hear and follow the speakers and singers of the Word, the fullness of righteousness will return to the Body of Christ… And God will be able to move quickly, powerfully and effectively.
2 Chronicles 16:9 For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him.
2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
Matthew 11:11 Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.
Who exactly are the Least of These?
There is much confusion in the Body about Jesus’s parable about helping “the least of these His Brethren.”
Many people use it as a Scripture about giving to the poor or homeless or orphans and widows.
Giving to the poor, orphans, homeless, and orphans & widows is VERY important in the Kingdom of God. It should NOT be neglected. It’s a crucial part of the order of the Kingdom of God.
However, when Jesus spoke of “the least of these my brethren,” He was not talking about any random poor person. Let’s look at the Scripture:
Matthew 25:37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?
38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?
39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?
40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have DONE IT UNTO ONE OF THE LEAST OF THESE MY BRETHREN, ye have done it unto me.
Let’s look at who Jesus defined as His Brethren:
Matthew 12:48 But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my MOTHER? and WHO ARE MY BRETHREN?
49 And he stretched forth his hand TOWARD HIS DISCIPLES, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren!
50 For whosoever shall DO THE WILL OF MY FATHER which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.
What does this mean? HIS DISCIPLES are HIS BRETHREN!
After Jesus died and rose, He chose to do everything in the will of His Father thru HIS BRETHREN (Disciples, Servants, Apostolic and Prophetic Messengers).
He trained His New Covenant Messengers in a specific Kingdom Way, Order, and Structure, and then gave them Holy Ghost Power.
His Messengers and Builders were the ones who carried forth the Law and Testimony forward from the Old Covenant to the New Covenant (Isaiah 8:16).
Jesus knew that their message would be hated by a wicked world system.
He knew that His Messengers would be called names, shunned, mocked, ridiculed, and even persecuted and killed.
He knew that His Messengers and the Kingdom they were Building would need care and financial support in a Babylon Economic system that was designed to silence, intimidate, water down, and attempt to corrupt their message and works.
When you reject the least of His Brethren, you are rejecting the King Himself. Your Judgment and your Reward is tied very closely to how you respond to His Disciples, Servants, Brethren, and Messengers.
Your eternal judgement will be closely related to how you treated the least of these HIS BRETHREN when you SAW them in need of help or support.
If we want a Prophet’s reward, we must support and repeat after the Speakers of the Word.
If we want a Righteous Man’s reward, we must support and follow the example of the Doers of the Word.
