Personal Responsibility goes both ways.
God is not a respecter of persons. If two of my children do something wrong, and I only punish one, I am an unrighteous, evil judge, partial, and a hypocrite that lacks wisdom. (James 2:4, James 3:14). As an evil authority, I also set the atmosphere for evil and distrust to reign freely in my house.
Preachers, and Christian leaders: Be careful of how you characterize God. God doesn’t take sides when both sides are unrighteous. God is not a respecter of persons. God brings correction to both sides, and God’s kingdom law makes sure that everyone reaps what they have sown. Christ is the only buffer for Gods judgement. Our nation’s justice system may not be perfect and balanced but our churches’ preaching MUST BE. No you don’t get to pick sides.
Leviticus 19 (KJV)
15 Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment: thou shalt not respect the person of the poor, nor honor the person of the mighty: but in righteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbour.
