Be a Hebrew in Christ: “One Who Crosses Over”

Be a Hebrew in Christ: “One Who Crosses Over”

Many people fail because they are scared to change. Abraham was a friend of God, and he wasn’t afraid of change. In fact, the word “Hebrew” comes from a word that means “one who crosses over.” This is the man God chose to bring the Messiah through and bless the earth.

Isaiah 51
1 Hearken to me, ye that follow after righteousness, ye that seek the Lord: look unto the rock whence ye are hewn, and to the hole of the pit whence ye are digged.
2 Look unto Abraham your father, and unto Sarah that bare you: for I called him alone, and blessed him, and increased him.

Genesis 12
1 Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee:
2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:

Are you afraid to “cross over” or are you of the character that God can choose to bless increase and multiply all over the face of the earth? Don’t be afraid of righteous changes!!! Don’t let your past hold you back from obedience. Listen to God! Be a true Hebrew in Christ: “One who Crosses Over.”

Sheep Nations and Goat Nations : it Starts with ONE OBEDIENT MAN

Sheep Nations and Goat Nations: Look at the difference between North Korea and South Korea. One Communist the other 95% Christian, with the largest church on the planet. So much that the communist nation has to stage mass executions to prevent the spread of the gospel to his nation.

It only takes one man per nation to be obedient and change that nation.

Will you be that one obedient man, and will you start with your house and your city?

Genesis 18
17 And the Lord said, Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do; 18 seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him? 19 For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the Lord, to do justice and judgment; that the Lord may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.

Offenses, Leadership By Example, and The Reward or Punishment for Influence

Offenses, Leadership By Example, and The Reward or Punishment for Influence

My first son has the chance to influence his little bros and sisses in right or in wrong – by example. He can make our parenting job easier or harder. And he can get rewarded by God for leading his generation in righteousness or be punished for leading his generation in disobedience.

It is similar in spiritual leadership – when you make disobedience appear successful, you become spiritually responsible and accountable for those who imitate or follow your disobedient influence. God is a great accountant and He knows how to trace rewards and punishments for good seeds of influence and bad seeds of influence.

– This is why James 3 says that masters, (or leaders) have a greater condemnation.

James 3:1 My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation. 2For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body. KJV

James 3:1 Be not many [of you] teachers, my brethren, knowing that we shall receive heavier judgment. 2For in many things we all stumble. If any stumbleth not in word, the same is a perfect man, able to bridle the whole body also. ASV

God was saying that not too many people should put themselves into position of leadership or teaching without God telling them, because they might cause people to be offended with their words.

What is “Offense” Really?

Today we use this word “offense” as if it means emotional insecurity or perceived disrespect. This word as used in the bible actually means to stumble, and in a disobedient step off the path off God.

Definition of Offend:

  1. to cause one to stumble or fall
  2. to stumble
  3. to err, make a mistake, to sin
  4. to fall into misery, become wretched

This is a major problem in the Body. People see the Word “offense” and think it has something to do with emotional insecurity or perceived disrespect rather than “stumbling off the path of obedience” to God.

Hosea 14:9b …for the ways of the LORD are right, and the just shall walk in them: but the transgressors shall fall therein.

I encourage you to reread all of the Scriptures you know that say “offense” and put the words ” stumble off the path of obedience” or “cause to stumble from the path of obedience”, or “stumbling blocks to obedience.”

When Jesus said:

Matthew 18:6 But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea. 7 Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come ; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh!

He was saying that if you cause a small believing child to disobey and stray from obedience to God, your punishment is so great, it would be better for you to drown in the ocean. He was saying that a lot of punishment is coming on the world because they cause people to stray from obedience to God. Whoever allows themselves to be the messenger or example of disobedience is going to be punished horribly.

When Jesus said:

Matthew 11: 4 Jesus answered and said unto them, Go and shew John again those things which ye do hear and see : 5 The blind receive their sight , and the lame walk , the lepers are cleansed , and the deaf hear , the dead are raised up , and the poor have the gospel preached to them . 6 And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.

He wasn’t rebuking John the Baptist for being emotional or asking a bad question, he was encouraging John to stay on his path of suffering in obedience, because JB had an important role in making a way for the Messiah, AND a share in the reward for the miracles Jesus was doing. He then went on to say JB was the greatest man ever born of a woman – he wasn’t rebuking him for perceiving disrespect or being emotional. He was in essence, letting him know his cut of the rewards for his obedience.

He was saying : “Look I’m healing the sick, raising the dead, and preaching the gospel to the poor. You were sent to prepare the way for me, so if you don’t back down and don’t back out of Obedience you will be very blessed.”

When you see the word “offense” as loss of emotional harmony, the devil will attack you and put roadblocks of conflict on your path of obedience to Gods will. Then you will leave the path of Gods will because of the conflict, keep the emotional harmony, smile and say “I’m not offended.” However, you really are offended, because you stumbled off the path of obedience to God.

Understanding the real meaning of “offense” brings great clarity to many issues of life. It will help you to find and stay completely on God’s holy path for your life regardless of the tricks, compromises and conflicts the devil puts on your path

We live in a generation where people will get emotionally offended by the truth… but will embrace deception if it’s presented with performance talent. #stumblingblocks

We’re in a generation where the Power in Purity is considered boring, but the Influential Iniquities of Pride & Vanity are hot commodities. #stumblingblocks

Leadership is a Serious Responsibility

As a leader, your main goal is not to cause people to stumble off the path of obedience. It’s not just words that can cause people to stumble from the path of obedience, it’s also your example.

Words are just the beginning. People do what they see, especially if they see people in positions of power and success doing them.

– This is why Proverbs says if a leader listens to lies, all his servants are wicked.

Proverbs 29:12 If a ruler hearken to lies, all his servants are wicked.

As a leader by example, if you even listen to a lie, all your servants become wicked and twisted from righteousness.

– This is why repentance is more necessary in the Church than in the world. God heals the land when HIS people repent and lead by example. (2 Chronicles 7:14)

2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray , and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

It’s not necessary to get sinners to stop doing this or that. It’s necessary to get so-called believers to obey, pray and walk in self-sacrificing holiness instead of compromise. That’s when God is released to heal the land. God didn’t give unbelievers the authority,

He gave believers the authority.
– This is why it’s important to obey God and lose money fame and influence rather than disobey God to gain money fame and influence “for God.”
When you try to outsmart God in this way, you get punished even more harshly for spreading corruption, even if you still look good in the eyes of the masses. The influence and money you gain “for God” by disobeying Him is actually a negative for you and for everyone under your influence.

Real Faith Is Obedience
I used to think people that were supposed to know the Word didn’t know the Word. Now I realize that many Christians know the written Word of God AND know the voice of God, but just refuse to obey Him in order to have success in the eyes of people.

I have seen, heard and experienced many people who know exactly what God wants Biblically, AND have clear direct instructions from God, but choose to do the opposite, in order to have temporary success.

It’s actually human nature NOT to make smart decisions, but to go with what makes you and others comfortable emotionally. I’ve been guilty of this myself. Just a few days ago, I had a decision where I could cut down the data on my cellphone plan and save cash every month. Even though I didn’t need unlimited data, and hardly used it, it was difficult for me to make the smart decision. Why? The stupidity of my emotional comfort was the reason.

Ask any business person, most people make decisions 80% on today’s emotion, even against hard facts and clear evidence of long term benefits. A product that is better, and saves customers money every month is actually hard to sell, because it makes people change when they don’t want to change. The same thing works with spiritual decisions.

But Abraham sacrificed Isaac, and passed Gods test to give up temporary success for permanent success (Hebrews 11:17-19). That’s real faith.

Jesus endured the Cross and got permanent success and reward (Hebrews 12:2). He didn’t disobey God for the temporary experience of success and making people comfortable. He didn’t Jump off the Cross to stop the Earthquake and get a round of applause and thanks. “That earthquake was really shaking things up Jesus – thanks for stopping it, you’re the man!”

A man that is working for his wedding day works hard and suffers long with no problem, because his wedding day stays on his mind (Genesis 29:20). If he thinks only about avoiding his suffering today, he quits. Then he gets sad, scarred, and looks for a prostitute instead of a wife.

Spiritually it’s the same: in order to really obey God, you have to have more faith in the Eternal Joy Set Before You (by meditating Gods ETERNAL promises and rewards) than you have in the temporary reward from pleasing people and making a temporary profit.

Genesis 29:20 And Jacob served seven years for Rachel; and they seemed unto him but a few days, for the love he had to her.

Skillful Disobedience to Avoid Suffering is Dangerous

People follow what appears to be successful. But in leadership, the more skilled you are at disobeying God and making it look successful, the more Blood is on your hands. It may help you to avoid temporary suffering and loss – but you end up spreading disobedience, apostasy (falling away from the faith), and Tare Seeds across the body of Christ. Without public repentance the damage continues. At least with public repentance you can slow down the spread of Corrupting the Word of God.

True repentance and obedience to the Will (Logos) and voice (Rhema) of God even in difficult losses creates eternal joy and infinite rewards, both naturally and spiritually.

If God can’t use you as an example of obedience, He will use you as an example of disobedience.

You Don’t have Real Faith in God until you are not afraid to die – because of the Reward for obedience!

Your Faith in God has not reached maturity until you are literally not afraid to die… Because you look forward to the resurrection and the reward for obedience.

I noticed a few years ago that many pastors in the Detroit area started out selling life insurance. I thought it was because preaching is like spiritual sales, and because financial life insurance is similar to spiritual salvation.

Now I think it’s because the spiritual climate in Detroit is so treacherous, it’s impossible to FULLY obey God unless you are not afraid to die. Knowing that you have been responsible and that your wife and kids will be covered financially helps you to obey God’s more difficult instructions when Satan is threatening you with fear of loss and life.

I remember my former pastor saying that he thought he was going to die before he turned 30 for the whole beginning of his ministry.

At one point I even kept 2 life insurance policies at once, just so the devil knew that if he tried anything, I’d still win big and my wife would crush him. Then God comforted me, and I had one cancelled to save some money! But I’m still not afraid to die, even with only one life insurance policy. I’ve got a much bigger policy in heaven, and my family does too if they follow in real faith.

Satan uses the fear of death to subject you to bondage for your whole lifetime.

15 And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. Hebrews 2

Jesus was obedient unto death, and got rewarded for it.

8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: Philippians 2

Even Abraham’s faith was based on the Resurrection.

17 By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son,

18 Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called:

19 Accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead; from whence also he received him in a figure. Hebrews 11

We overcome Satan by not loving our lives unto death.

11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. Revelations 12

Dog Type Lust Leads to Torment

Have you ever tried to stop a dog from eating a slab of raw meat that it is only 2 feet away from?

Yeah, pretty impossible to stop. That’s how sinners are when they are filled with lust.

And then when they are done, they wipe their mouth off and say they didn’t do anything wrong at all. This is how we all were when we were sinners.

This is the way of an adulterous woman: She eats and wipes her mouth, And says, “I have done no wrong.” Proverbs 30:20

Then when their punishment comes, they front like they would have not done wrong if they had been warned.

25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.

26 And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.

27 Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father’s house:

28 For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.

Luke 16

The rich man is being tormented for his sin… he also has the nerve to essentially tell Abraham that his brothers are the same as him, and if they are warned, they won’t be sent to hell in torment. Implying that he wasn’t warned, he didn’t know.

29 Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.

30 And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.

31 And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.

Luke 16

In this parable which is told by Jesus Christ, Abraham basically tells the rich man “you were warned, you just ignored it.” The rich man was trying to put the responsibility for his sin on the lack of communication or warning. But God was telling him that the message was loud and clear, and his lack of obedience put him in hell.

James 1
14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.

15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

Comfort now means Torment later.

Comfort Now Means Torment Later

Some people get glory on earth… Some people get glory in heaven.
Where will you recieve your good things?
The sacrifices you dont make on earth are the sacrifices you will make afterwards.

*[[Luk 16:25]] KJV* But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.

Intercessors are from Above | Countdown to The Call Detroit 11-11-11: Day 17 –

Intercessors are From Above

Believers, we have to know our identity as intercessors and priests. Too often we think we are on the bottom, looking up, when we pray for people, praying for cities, and nations. We have to know that in Christ, we already have all the authority. We pray over these things from uptop.

Let’s look at the first intercessor, Abraham:

22 And the men turned their faces from thence, and went toward Sodom: but Abraham stood yet before the LORD. 23 And Abraham drew near , and said , Wilt thou also destroy the righteous with the wicked? 24 Peradventure there be fifty righteous within the city: wilt thou also destroy and not spare the place for the fifty righteous that are therein? 25 That be far from thee to do after this manner, to slay the righteous with the wicked: and that the righteous should be as the wicked, that be far from thee: Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?  Genesis 18

“Abraham stood yet before the Lord.” He was standing between God and the city of Sodom. Was he praying for the city with a victim’s or beggars’s menality? No – he knew He had authority with God, because he was God’s friend. He wasn’t under the city of Sodom, he was above the city of Sodom, talking and bargaining with God on their behalf.

Let’s look at the greatest intercessor – Jesus.

25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them. Hebrews 7

Jesus ever lives to make intercession. He is the greatest Intercessor. Jesus is in Heaven, and He is an intercessor. Jesus is from above. He saves people and lifts them up to His level.

Yesterday I heard a preacher on the radio (Dr. Tony Evans) share an illustration about people of the Kingdom being as referees, sent from the NFL office. He said referees are not to play for the fighting teams, but to officiate according to the rulebook of the NFL.  He said so many Christians choose to take sides (Democrat or Republican, Black or White, etc…) instead of concentrating on our kingdom identity above the issues on the field.

I loved that analogy, but I want to take it further… We are referees, and we get to call the fouls! We get to hand out the penalties according to the Kingdom rule book, the Bible. We decide who wins according to the rule book. Referees are not in the game or under the game, they are over the game. My main point is that as a citizen of the kingdom, we are spiritually above the world, not under the world, or in the world.

We live on earth, and we humble ourselves physically and socially to be servants. But what we do and say actually works on a higher level. What we bind on earth, is bound in heaven (the atmosphere). What we loose on earth, is loosed in heaven. We can bind the enemy with our praise. We declare who wins and who loses in the earth. We execute God’s judgements, forgive sins, and spread His mercy and glory and victory by faith.

We do this in agreement with God’s Word and with each other. That is why a full revelation of the Word of God, and full Unity in the Body of Christ is so important. Because we are on top – we intercede from above! We don’t beg earthly authorites for mercy and grace; we stand between them and God, declaring and conversating with God on what He will allow them to do. When our obedience is fulfilled, God can revenge all disobedience (2 Corinthians 10:6). This is why full repentance and turning of our hearts to God is so important. God allows us to execute judgements on satan when satan is not inside of us (John 14:30).

5 Let the saints be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud upon their beds. 6 Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a twoedged sword in their hand; 7 To execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people; 8 To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron; 9 To execute upon them the judgment written : this honour have all his saints. Praise ye the LORD. Psalms 149
